Mature Dating Older Women

While I was at school the thought of dating an older girl filled me with excitement. Don’t misunderstand me I was 15 and had no intention to push the boundaries beyond the boundary but a girl in sixth form was my dream. Well that dream was realised however I was maturing myself and over the next ten years my girlfriends tended to be either the same age or maybe a couple of years younger. This trend continued until that great day in my life when I married the love of my life that incidentally is 5yrs younger than me.

Now I am sure my experiences are certainly not unique, the truth is that it is almost a cliché that men wish to date younger girls but why would a man choose to date an older women.

Advantages

Experience: When I was researching this short article with my mates in the pub, the primary reason that gained universal approval was that older girls have experience. As the maxim goes that youth is wasted on the young and this can be a problem with girls who don’t have the emotional maturity that goes with their sexuality. While youth to some is without a doubt appealing sexuality comes with experience and knowledge. An older woman is fully aware of the thing that makes her tick and hopefully what buttons to press to get you going. More to the point though the art of sex can involve your body and mind and quite often this kind of stimulation is just not present in younger girls.

Maturity: An older woman usually knows what she wants and the way to obtain it. This woman is less likely to wreak havoc on your head and will hopefully make the relationship run a little smoother. With maturity comes refinement (hopefully) along with a sense of how you can experience the finer things in life. I am sure younger men do not want to be going to the Opera weekly but surely quality dining places are superior to fast food followed by a quickie!

Maternal: Not really a reason that I would have selected however some men do enjoy being mothered. I am not saying that modern day cougars possess all of the mothering instincts however I have known guys who’s older girl friends treat them much better than their mothers used to.

Independence: Older women are typically more advanced in their occupations and have gained financial security. If this is so they are more unlikely to depend on a man to support them. One advantage is usually that a younger successful guy is not as likely to fall foul of the gold digger type if his chosen older woman is equally successful.

Disadvantages

The Biological Clock: With each passing year comes the realisation that dating a mature women doesn’t just provide your friends with material for banter “what are you doing out with your Mum” but make sure you take into consideration that your older partner will most likely be mindful of her age. With maturity comes the need for security as well as the age old desire to settle down and have children.

Baggage: If you are determined to get into mature dating it may be wise to learn how much of her past is linked to her current life. The last thing you need is going to be coping with the tension of old bad relationships.
