Older Dating Singles

When it comes to online dating, you often have about a few seconds to impress a potential date, especially with the booming population of online daters at any age bracket. This is a good indication that there is at least one person out there looking for the same things as you are. But how do you impress other older dating singles in those few seconds that they usually take to view your profile? The mature dating train will only wait long, so it’s time to spruce up that page with these tips:

  1. Make it “conversational.” Your profile is not a resume, so don’t limit yourself to one word answers or cliché responses. You don’t need big words to impress, either. Answer the questions as though you are speaking to a close friend. This is a great way to show your personality. A little creativity would go a long way, especially when expressing your interests. So instead of plainly saying that you like nature and doing active things, try saying, “I love getting lost in nature and afternoon hikes.” Just don’t exaggerate things or resort to lying about your interests, as this can only lead to bad dates that you will certainly not enjoy.
  2. Filter potential dates. You don’t want your e-mail crammed with invitations from people you have no interest in going out with. While it will give you kind of a nice feeling knowing that many people take interest in you, you wouldn’t want to waste time with people that are nowhere close to your type. This why you should always use personal filters. Indicate that you refuse to date smokers, for example. Say it in a nice and light manner, though. Otherwise, you’ll come across as rude.

3.    Don’t be a downer. Make your profile “happy.” Remember that people looking older dating like you are looking for new adventures and excitement in life. Don’t be hung up on your past or be depressed on failed relationships. You won’t get dates if you talk about things you hate and rant on and on. Stay positive!
